Educated as classical zoologist my primary scientific interests always covered evolutionary processes and mechanisms of sexual selection. Many of related topics are addressed in the field of reproductive biology. In an applied way, these topics are also important for fertility and infertility, thus my research at the centre is also dealing with preclinical and clinical as well as basic experimental approaches, trying to link both fields to each other. My research on male sex chromosomal abberations, on male reproductive ageing and male in vitro germ cell maturation might serve as an example for this.
