IZKF BROSCHURE
The Interdisciplinary Centres for Clinical Research (IZKF) established nearly two decades ago have profoundly altered disease-oriented clinical research at German Universities. They have significantly promoted bridging between bench and bedside thereby making University Medicine internationally more competitive. Since the mid-90s, the IZKF implement innovative and quality-driven research funding programmes spanning various academic career paths and technologies at the respective Medical Faculties and University Clinics.
Today the IZKF have evolved to become integral elements of their respective Medical Faculties and University Clinics. Endowed with their own research budget and management, they are able to initiate specific site-related innovative funding programmes.
The five Interdisciplinary Centers for Clinical Research (IZKF) have published a bilingual brochure that gives a brief overview of their similarities and special features. PDF

TEN YEARS IZKF MÜNSTER
On the occasion of its 10th anniversary in October 2006, the IZKF Münster released a commemorative publication. "The central aim of the Medical Faculty/Universität Münster in 1996 was to join and stimulate the research activities within the scientific foci of an interdisciplinary centrer. This led to the anticipated innovation for clinical research in Münster. The main goal in the past 10 years was to build up an internationally recognized ‚Center of Excellence‘, which should unfold a stimulating aura on the whole faculty. Today, the Medical Faculty can proudly review the scientific work of 10 years and especially with respect to its traditional orientation as teaching university is able to present a modern efficiency-oriented scientific site. By continuous development of this profile the IZKF Münster will further try to establish itself as an up-to-date center with an international reputation and to steadily retain the well booked seat of the Medical Faculty on the Forschungslandkarte Deutschland".
