Interaction of macrophages with cell matrix niches in lymphoid organs

Lymphoid follicles within secondary lymphoid organs are anatomically delineated by biological barriers formed by specialized stromal endothelial cells. We previously observed that CD169+ macrophages interact with the stroma in these barriers. We aim to decode the molecular pathways defining these macrophage-stromal cell interactions and their impact in the specific immune responses to blood- and lymph-borne pathogens.
