Once again, this year, about 100 scientists met in Münster on March 13 and 14 to present their research data in different areas of infection research. The third "Münster Symposium on Infection Biology" is organized by the Pathogen Host Interplay Club and supported by the Interdisciplinary Centre of Clinical Research (IZKF) and other sponsors.

The symposium provides a platform for all researchers interested in the interaction of pathogens and their hosts to meet and exchange ideas. Above all, young scientists are able to present their research data and model systems to the public and discuss them with colleagues. In addition, the internationally renowned guest speakers Melanie Brinkmann (Braunschweig), Petra Dersch (Münster), Michael Hensel (Osnabrück), Eva Herker (Marburg), Mathias Hornef (Aachen) and Florian I. Schmidt (Bonn) covered a wide range of topics with their lectures on pathogenesis and manipulation of host cells by viral and bacterial pathogens. The continuous interest in this symposium underlines the success and relevance of this event in Münster.
