I obtained my biology degree, zoology doctorate and reproductive biology habilitation at the University of Münster. As part of my postdoctoral research projects in Münster, Australia (Monash University) and the USA (UPenn), I specialised in the study of testicular function and development. Following five years as a professor and head of a primate facility at the University of Pittsburgh, I joined the University of Münster in 2008. Since then, I have directed CeRA alongside Prof. Dr. med. Sabine Kliesch. My research covers various aspects of testicular function, spermatogenesis, and sperm function. Within my research group, we investigate, e.g. as part of the CRU326, fundamental physiological and cellular biological approaches, including the potential use of stem cells as a fertility reserve.
I have been working as a chief secretary for the director of the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Andrology since 2009. After completing my training as a foreign language correspondent for English and French, I was employed at a mechanical engineering company and a French group specializing in paper manufacturing and processing. After a longer break to care for my two children, I started working at CeRA in 2009. What I especially enjoy about my work is the variety of tasks and the international flair in the centre. The multicultural exchange with mainly young people from all over the world enriches my daily work.

During my doctoral studies at the Institute of Molecular Biology gGmbH and Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, I gained my first experience of science management and project coordination. I find working with researchers, particularly in an international setting, both exciting and enriching. I enjoy advocating for the interests of others, I quickly become enthusiastic about new topics, and I am happy to support the team in advancing projects and processes. I am currently completing the 'University Management' programme at the University of Münster.
