Curriculum vitae

Seong-won Han is a postdoctoral researcher working with Dr. Wolfgang A. Linke at the University of Münster, and her primary research interests broadly lie in the field of skeletal muscle biomechanics across all structural hierarchies. She received PhD training at the University of Calgary (UofC; Canada) under the supervision of Dr. Walter Herzog, specialized in knee joint mechanics and muscle mechanics to study mechanisms of knee injuries/pain and force-sharing problems in synergistic muscle group (2015-2020). She continued her work as a postdoctoral researcher at the same laboratory (UofC; 2020-2021) to better understand history-dependent properties of muscle, such as residual force enhancement/depression, using single muscle fibres and single myofibrils preparations. Since January 2022, she has been primarily working on how titin plays roles in muscle contraction mechanism at sub-cellular level (i.e., myofibrillar level), using Titin-Cleavage mouse model.
