Neurology Webinar "The B cell biology underlying autoantibody-mediated diseases of the CNS"

Prof. Sarosh Irani (Oxford) is our guest speaker at the Neurology Webinar and will give a lecture entitled "The B cell biology underlying autoantibody-mediated diseases of the CNS".
Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2020
Time: 6:15 - 7:45 pm

Prof. Irani is Head of the Oxford Autoimmune Neurology Group and Co-director of the Autoimmune Neurology Diagnostic laboratory. He is running a research group on autoantibody-mediated diseases of the nervous system, in particular the central nervous system. Prof. Irani has studied the antigenic targets of autoantibodies in patients with encephalitis and epilepsies. In particular, his research has focused on LGI1, CASPR2, and NMDA-receptors. In addition, he has been involved in projects examining autoantibodies against the GABAA-receptor, glycine receptors, and aquaporin-4. He is currently exploring new antigenic targets, improved methods to measure antibody levels, mechanisms of antibody action, and methods to study novel therapeutic agents as part of a Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellowship.

This seminar will be held as a zoom conference. Participants do not need a webcam or webcam microphone. Please register via email, addressed to Sarah Khalil, and you will receive the login data.
