Neurocolloquium Webinar Muenster: “Spinal cord atrophy as a marker for neuronal degeneration”

Dr. Antje Bischof will talk about “Spinal cord atrophy as a marker for neuronal degeneration”

Dr. Bischof is a postdoctoral research scholar at the Department of Neurology of the University of California, San Francisco. She is a Swiss board-certified neurologist with sub-specialty interest in neuroimaging. She earned her medical degree at the University of Würzburg, Germany, and completed her residency in neurology with Prof. L. Kappos at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, where she worked as an attending physician before leaving for San Francisco in 2015.
She holds a long-standing interest in the development of biomarkers to adequately monitor and predict changes relevant to the evolution of neurological diseases with a particular focus on multiple sclerosis. With her work she aims to expand our understanding of the mechanisms underlying neuronal damage and disability accumulation to uncover disease processes that may be modifiable early in the disease course through therapeutic interventions. During her fellowship at UCSF, she has been working on identifying MRI metrics to predict and monitor the evolution of progressive MS by using conventional and advanced neuroimaging techniques that can be implemented in the clinical setting.
Date: Wednesday, May 13th
Time: 6:15 - 7:45 p.m.

The seminar will be held as zoom conference. A webcam or microphone are not required to participate.  The login details will be sent to you by email after registration. Contact: Sarah Khalil
