New papers from Budapest and Münster partners

We are proud to present new GLYCANC publications from our Hungarian partner at Semmelweis Institute. As Ilona Semmelweis, leader of the molecular biology lab, puts it: ´We managed to publish the first part our syndecan-1 liver story in Matrix Biology. This is the first part of the story, as the experimental model studied the effect of syndecan-1 on liver cirrhosis. The second part we are doing now is dealing with the effect of syndecan-1 on the development of liver cancer.´ Furthermore syndecan-hepatocarcinogenesis project was finished in collaboration with partner WWU Münster, which significantly shows that syndecan-1 interferes with the development of liver cancer. GLYCANC secondees Eszter Regős (Budapest, Hungary) and Hadeer Hesham Abdelfattah (Cairo, Egypt) made major contributions to this work. Please find out more in the publications section.
