MOMENDO teams report on endometriosis research at ESHRE meeting

Martin Götte at the ESHRE Pre-Congress course on endometriosis

The MOMENDO project was strongly represented at the ESHRE meeting in Barcelona (June 30-July 4, 2018). The annual meeting of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology is the largest fertility-related conference in Europe, and reflects the current state-of-the-art in this field. In a session co-organised by Prof. Dr. Andrew Horne (Edinburgh), Prof. Dr. Martin Götte (Münster) presented the current status of noninvasive diagnostic markers for endometriosis. In a separate session, Dr. Erin Greaves (Edinburgh) reported about the current status of experimental models for endometriosis and associated pain, whereas the Tartu team led by Prof. Dr. Andres Salumets presented a new transcriptomic study on infertility-related changes in the endometrial and blood miRNome. In addition, several MOMENDO teams contributed with posters.

The strong presence of MOMENDO teams as speakers at the ESHRE meeting reflects the increasing interest of clinicians and resproductive scientists in endometriosis, and the demand for a better understanding of the scientific basis of the disease.
