During a speed-networking session, scientists from different cities and career stages made new contacts.

Medical scientists from six universities exchange ideas at joint symposium

Participants of the symposium: Scientists from six universities, plus representatives from scientific societies, funding institutions and the German Science and Humanities Council

Research, career support and networking: Scientists from the Universities of Duisburg-Essen, Göttingen, Hamburg, Hanover, Mainz and Münster are meeting in Münster this week (22–24 March 2026) for the Medical Scientist Network Symposium.

Through their Medial Scientist Schools, the six universities support talented postdocs from the natural sciences as they conduct research in medical contexts. In addition to engaging in exciting science, participants are exchanging their ideas about the opportunities and specific needs of the career development of their professional group. The Medical Scientist Schools and symposium are funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation. The meeting is hosted by the Medical Scientist Programmes ‘UMESciA’ from Essen and ‘InFlame’ from Münster.
