We are currently offering postdoc positions in the life and natural sciences (medicine, biology, pharmacy, (bio)chemistry, computer science) in the field of the dynamics of infections and inflammatory processes.
The Medical Scientist Programme InFlame supports talented postdocs from natural science disciplines who are conducting research in the interdisciplinary field of the dynamics of inflammatory reactions by providing structured research and career training opportunities. The aim is to involve the participants in translational research, to support their career paths in academia and to strengthen the link between basic research and patient-oriented research.
Currently, there are 16 postdocs from biology, chemistry and computer science working on four-year research projects within our programme. We plan to open it to more fellows – interested junior researchers and their mentors are welcome to get in touch with us.
The programme receives funding from the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation and is financially supported by the Faculty of Medicine and the University of Münster.
Integration into a strong research community: Participants can integrate themselves into established research networks, exchange scientific ideas, benefit from extensive expertise and collaborate with other junior researchers and internationally renowned scientists from the natural sciences and medicine.
Medicine-oriented training: Participants acquire knowledge about the framework conditions of translational research and engage in dialogue with medical professionals to further develop their research projects. This enables them to assess the medical relevance of their research and pursue ideas for the clinical transferability of basic scientific findings.
Career training: Participants gain key professional qualifications and can choose from various training courses designed to develop their academic careers.
Mentoring: Participants are supported by experienced mentors from the natural sciences and medicine who provide advice on developing their research and career.
Peer support: Being part of our community, participants can exchange experiences and support each other.
