Medical Library of the ULB Münster

The range of services offered by the Medical Medical Library of the ULB Münster (Zweigbibliothek Medizin) is extensive. This leaflet  provides an overview of all services offered by the Medical Branch Library.

  • The Medical Branch Library currently subscribes to around 1,500 online journals in medicine and related fields. These titles can be found in the Electronic Journals Library.
  • Articles from journals not subscribed to can be quickly obtained via Rapidoc (see below).
  • Academic monographs are easy to order and are made available online.
  • A wide variety of databases complements the comprehensive offerings for finding scholarly articles.
  • Our training program ranges from general introductions to library use to specialized courses on using medical databases.
  • Publication services for e-journals: As a member of the University of Münster, you can publish your own e-journal and manage the editorial process using Open Journal Systems.
  • The Miami Repository, or simply miami (“Münster Information and Archive System for Multimedia Content”), is the publication server for publishing and archiving digital and multimedia documents at the University of Münster. Here, dissertations and habilitations from the University of Münster, as well as teaching materials and working papers, can be published digitally.
  • University of Münster Open Access Publication Fund: Researchers at the University of Münster can apply for funding from the Open Access Publication Fund, which is supported by the University and the German Research Foundation (DFG), for articles published in open access journals.
  • Rapidoc is a free service provided by the Medical Branch Library to locate and obtain published articles for staff and doctoral students of the Medical Faculty. After a one-time registration, articles can be ordered. The library takes care of the rest.
  • Scholarly Publications of the University of Münster: Authors from the university have the opportunity to publish their book in print as well as digitally.
  • Research Data Services: Here you will find information on managing research data, including its acquisition, provision, and archiving.
