BMBF funding fuels innovation in reproductive research in Münster
Great news for reproductive science in Münster: The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has awarded more than €1 million to ReproTrack.MS, the research centre for Medical and Clinician Scientists in reproductive research. This substantial grant allowed acquisition of cutting-edge laboratory equipment, including a super-resolution microscope that allows researchers to visualise germ cell components in remarkable molecular detail resolved to under 20 nanometres.
This investment is more than just a technical upgrade; it is a powerful driver of innovation and collaboration. The new equipment is now in use at three core sites: the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Andrology (CeRA), the Institute of Reproductive Genetics (IRG), and the General Paediatrics. With these new machines, researchers are ideally equipped to investigate the complex biology underlying fertility, bridging the gap between bench and bedside. The coordinators Frank Tüttelmann, Sabine Kliesch, Nina Neuhaus, and Timo Strünker are excited to see how this cutting-edge technology will accelerate the scientific advancements of ReproTrack.MS.
