I am a medical doctor and researcher specializing in the molecular physiology and pathophysiology of inflammatory diseases and tumors, with a particular focus on pancreatic cancer. After earning a medical degree from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, in 2014, I completed my Ph.D. at the same institution's Department of Biophysics and Cell Biology in 2017.
Since joining Prof. Albrecht Schwab's group in 2018, I have been investigating mechanisms crucial for tumor progression, cancer cell survival, and tumor-stroma interactions. My research centers on the role of ion channels and transporters, particularly K⁺ channels and the Na⁺/H⁺ exchanger NHE1, in modulating intracellular pH and Ca²⁺ homeostasis within tumor cells and tumor-associated stromal cells.
