Dissertation Prize in Oncology from the Maria Möller Foundation

The prize, worth 1,000 euros, honors outstanding doctoral degrees at the Faculty of Medicine in Münster, required focus is the early detection, cure or palliation of cancer. It aims at giving junior scientists an incentive to conduct research in the field of oncology. The ceremony takes place twice a year. No application is required.

The work of the Maria Möller Foundation is based on a very personal story: In 2005, Maria Möller, succumbed to a battle with breast cancer  that had lasted several years, despite intensive efforts from the physicians at the University Hospital in Münster. Her husband, lawyer Gerd Möller, founded this initiative shortly thereafter.
