Women-in-Science Network Medicine Münster

Academic mentoring and networking constitute a key factor in a scientific career. To counteract the fact that female researchers are often less well-connected and receive mentoring support less frequently, the Women-in-Science Network Medicine was founded in 2021 by the research consortia of the Medical Faculty, with the support of the Equal Opportunities Officer and the Deanery of the Medical Faculty. Through this research network, specifically designed for women scientists, the equality measures of the individual research consortia are to be consolidated, providing support in career planning for both female physicians and basic researchers across all fields of medicine.

Women in Surgery Network at the UKM

In autumn 2019, female doctors from the Department of Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery launched a network for women in surgery at the UKM. The goal was to establish a platform for female surgeons across all specialties and career levels at the UKM to connect and share experiences.

Supported financially by the UKM Board and the Medical Faculty's Equal Opportunities Officer, the kick-off meeting was held at Haus Terfloth on 9 December 2019 and saw a high turnout.
