Welcome

The Institute for Medical Ethics, History and Philosophy of Medicine is an interdisciplinary academic institution of the Faculty of Medicine. Our research focuses span all three areas reflected in the Institute’s name. Information on current projects can be found under Research, and a selection of recent publications is compiled under News from the Institute. Our Institute is involved in several interfaculty research networks and institutions at the University of Münster. These include the Centre for Bioethics and the Centre for the Philosophy of Science. In teaching, we primarily offer curricular courses for students of human medicine and dentistry. In addition, we organize seminars and lecture series that are open to students from all faculties. Our Institute houses an extensive library covering all three fields, as well as a historical collection containing instruments and objects from all areas of medicine.
