CRU326 workshop: 'Male Reproduction in Drosophila' - Successful

In collaboration with Prof. Dr. Paul Lasko and PD Dr. Astrid Jeibmann a CRU326 workshop on the 'Male Reproductive System in Drosophila' took place this tuesday (Nov. 5th 2019).

Both fly experts demonstrated the potential of using Drosophila melanogaster as a model system for reproductive research.

Starting with a short and informative presentation about the fruit fly as model organism and its capacity for reproductive science by Prof. Lasko, a hands-on workshop followed giving the participants the opportunity to practice their technical work with Drosophila.

Especially isolating the male reproductive tract was one of the main challenges for the workshop attendees.
