Research Interests:
Research of our group is concentrating on avian influenza viruses (AIV), especially highly pathogenic AIV.

The following working fields are the main focus:

• Animal infection models including different poultry and wild bird species, ferrets, mice and pigs
• Virulence and pathogenesis studies
• Development and characterization of modified live vaccine prototypes
• Analysis of influenza virus quasispecies and DIs using next generation sequencing technologies
• Characterization of neuramindase deletion variants
