Research Interests:Research of our group is concentrating on avian influenza viruses (AIV), especially highly pathogenic AIV.The following working fields are the main focus:
- Animal infection models including different poultry and wild bird species, ferrets, mice and pigs
- Virulence and pathogenesis studies
- Development and characterization of modified live vaccine prototypes
- Analysis of influenza virus quasispecies and DIs using next generation sequencing technologies
- Characterization of neuramindase deletion variants
