Dr. Villela works in the interface between Mathematical models, Epidemiology, and Ecology.
Currently serving as Coordinator of the Program of Scientific Computing (PROCC/FIOCRUZ).
PhD degree from Columbia University. CNPq Research fellow. FAPERJ Research fellow.

Research interests: Mathematical epidemiology; Mathematical modeling of dynamics of disease vector populations, and applied methods on disease surveillance.
