Data Protection Policy
Information in accordance with Article 13 EU GDPR
In the following we would like to comply with the information obligation in accordance with Article 13 EU GDPR.
As part of the Model Project Genome Sequencing and Broad Consent, you have the right to exercise your data subject
rights or to withdraw your consent. In doing so, we process your data as described below.
Which data / data types are specifically affected?
Personal data such as your surname, first name, date of birth, and a redacted copy of your identity card will be collected and processed. Your address, telephone number, and email address will also be processed for the purpose of re-contacting you. Furthermore, you will be asked to provide details of your request and any additional comments you may wish to share with us voluntarily, which will then be processed.
Processing purposes
The data will be used for the purpose of processing withdrawals of consent and exercising data subject rights in
the context of Broad Consent within the Central Biobank and the Model Project Genome Sequencing.
The copy of the identity card is required for the purpose of verifying your identity.
Legal basis for processing and revocation
The legal basis for processing the personal data mentioned is the consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) letter a EU GDPR as well as Article 6 (1) letter c EU GDPR.
You have the right to revoke your data protection consent at any time. Revoking your consent does not affect the legality of the processing
carried out on the basis of your consent up to the point of revocation. Send the revocation to the person responsible. There are no disadvantages
for you through the revocation.
Recipient
The data will initially be received by the responsible staff members of the Compliance and Insurance Division of the University Hospital Münster. After verifying your identity and the legitimacy of your request, your request will be forwarded to the responsible staff members of the Central Biobank for requests relating to biomaterials and to the responsible staff members of the Medical Data Integration Center for requests relating to stored data. These transfers will be carried out in pseudonymized form, i.e. without your collected personal data. Your request will also be sent to the Clearing Office of the IT Division in order to document your withdrawal in the hospital information system of the University Hospital Münster. If you additionally withdraw your consent to the processing of your data within the framework of the Model Project Genome Sequencing or exercise your data subject rights in this context, your request will also be forwarded to the Department of Medical Genetics. These transfers will be carried out using your personally identifying information. In addition, you will receive confirmation of your request by email, including a reference number.
Duration of storage
The data will be stored for a maximum of 3 months.
The copy of the identity card will be deleted immediately after the identity verification has been completed.
