Medizinerkolleg (MedK)

The Medical Faculty of Münster has set itself the goal of using numerous forward-looking funding instruments to pave the way for a successful career for young medical scientists. It now offers an instrument to inspire medical students to pursue biomedical research and spark their interest in an experimental, accompanying doctoral thesis with a clinical focus.

The offer of the Medizinerkolleg (MedK), a college accompanying the doctoral program, is aimed at highly motivated students of human and dental medicine who wish to complete a doctoral program accompanying their studies. This program offers the opportunity to write an experimental doctoral thesis and, in parallel, provides a structured education in the form of theoretical and practical courses.

The MedK provides its members with the opportunity to work on a high-quality doctoral thesis within a scientific semester, under the guidance of mentors who are all dedicated experts in their field of research and members of the MedK. The students undergo a training and education program in which they learn to develop scientifically relevant questions independently and, following the principles of good scientific practice, work on experimental and clinically scientific projects autonomously.
