The dynamically developing field of medical informatics with the aim of digitizing medicine is presented compactly in this book. It should enable a comprehensive and understandable entry into medical informatics. The first chapter explains basic medical terms that are important for readers with a predominantly technical background. The second chapter is intended for readers with medical-biological background and explains important terms in computer science. Afterwards, the most important sub-areas of medical informatics are presented, with special attention to the "Educational Objectives Catalog Medical Informatics for Students of Human Medicine".
