The lecture Medical Informatics provides fundamental knowledge on the processing, management, and use of medical data as well as on key digital technologies in healthcare. Students of human medicine gain an overview of information systems, data standards, and current methods of artificial intelligence in medicine.

Important Information regarding changes and the pre-assessment (Antestat) in Medical Informatics (WiSe 2026/27)

Please take note of the following significant changes:

• The majority of the Medical Informatics lecture content will now be covered through self-study using instructional videos.
• The Medical Informatics practical course will henceforth be conducted in two sessions per group.

• Successful completion of a pre-assessment (Antestat) is required to participate in the practical course. This will take place after the first two weeks of the semester as a multiple-choice test in Ilias. The purpose of this pre-assessment is to ensure that you are optimally prepared for the course content.
