The "Innovative Medical Research" programme contains the following funding instruments:
- Start-up funding for research projects, especially for young scientists
- Personnel, equipment, and material funds up to a maximum of 70,000 € per year
- Standard funding period: 1 to 3 years - Start-up funding for innovative and also risky pilot projects, especially for young scientists
- Equipment and material funds as well as funds for student and graduate assistants
up to a maximum of 15,000 €
- Standard funding period: 1 year - Exchange programme and scholarships (funding component of the MFM Clinician Scientist Programme)
for young scientists with doctorates or degrees
- Standard funding period: up to one year
The last date for submitting applications is 1 April and 1 October each year.

approx. 2 to 5 months.
