The 19-member Research Commission elected by the Faculty Council of the Medical Faculty meets about
6 times a year to discuss the applications submitted to the IMF and to decide on funding. This takes place within the framework of a defined review and decision-making procedure: each research proposal is assessed in writing by two expert (external) reviewers. These expert reports then serve as the basis for the evaluation by two members of the Research Commission. At the end of the decision-making process, the ranking of the applications discussed is determined and a decision is made as to which project will be proposed for funding, within the limits of the available funds.
