PhD course on Stem cells in Female Reproduction
The course on Stem cells in Female reproduction (1 ECTS) is a joint course organised by European Union Projects MATER and TRENDO. This course will benefit PhD students in MATER project and other researchers working in the field of female reproduction.
This course focuses on Stem cells / Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) in female reproductive system. The lectures will focus on ovarian and endometrial stem / MSC’s cells, their phenotype, their role in endometrial regeneration, gynaecological disorders such as endometriosis, endometrial microbiome in health, disease, and their link with stem cells in general, clinical applications of MSC and the challenges and future opportunities with stem cells in Gynaecology. The course will also cover theoretical aspects of endometrial stem cell isolation, characterisation, application of advanced RNA technologies such as smartseq-3 and functional genomics in studying endometrial stem cells.
