Promovierte Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler, die hauptamtlich an der Medizinischen Fakultät Münster oder am Universitätsklinikum Münster (UKM) tätig sind, können im Rahmen des internen Forschungsprogramms "Innovative Medizinische Forschung" (IMF) noch bis zum 1. April 2024 einen Antrag auf Förderung eines innovativen Forschungsprojektes in der IMF-Geschäftsstelle einreichen.

Das IMF-Programm konzentriert sich im Wesentlichen auf die Anschub- und Einstiegsförderung für neue Forschungsansätze und insbesondere auf die Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses. (Berufene Professorinnen und Professoren sind von der Antragstellung ausgeschlossen.)

Unter anderem ist es möglich, eine ein- bis dreijährige Anschubfinanzierung für ein Forschungsprojekt zu beantragen (ca. 70.000 € pro Jahr inkl. Personalmittel). Insbesondere promovierte Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen, die noch keine umfangreichen Vorarbeiten vorweisen können, haben die Möglichkeit, eine einjährige Anschubfinanzierung für innovative und risikoreiche Projekte zu beantragen (Pilotprojektförderung, 15.000 Euro Sachmittel).

Im Rahmen des Förderinstruments Austauschprogramm und Stipendien für promovierte oder graduierte Wissenschaftler*innen (Förderbaustein des Clinician-Scientist-Programms der MFM) kann ein bis zu 12 Monate dauerndes (Auslands-)Stipendium beantragt werden (Stipendienhöhe in Anlehnung an die DFG-Stipendien). Hierdurch soll der Austausch mit auswärtigen Einrichtungen gezielt gefördert werden.

Scientists who are already postdocs and work at the Faculty of Medicine Münster or at the University Hospital Münster (UKM) as their main occupation can submit an application for funding for an innovative research project to the IMF office as part of the internal research programme "Innovative Medical Research" (IMF) until 1 April 2024.

The IMF programme focuses primarily on start-up funding for new research approaches and in particular on the promotion of young scientists. (Appointed professors are excluded from submitting an application).

Among other things, it is possible to apply for one to three years of start-up funding for a research project (approx. € 70,000 per year including personnel resources). In particular, young scientists with a doctorate who do not yet have any extensive preliminary work to show for themselves, have the opportunity to apply for one-year start-up funding for innovative and risky projects (pilot project funding, €15,000 in material resources).

As part of the funding instrument Exchange Programme and Scholarships for Doctoral or Graduate Scientists (funding component of the MFM Clinician Scientist Programme), a (foreign) scholarship lasting up to 12 months can be applied for (amount of grant similar to DFG Research Fellowships). This is intended to specifically promote exchange with foreign institutions.
