"For Women in Science" is a global collaboration between UNESCO and L'Oréal. Together, the two partners have been promoting women in science since 1998 by strengthening excellence in research, promoting gender equality and emphasising the visibility of women in research ("role models").

Every year, "For Women in Science Germany" supports four young female scientists working in Germany - with prize money of 25,000 euros. Partners in Germany are the German UNESCO Commission, L'Oréal Germany and the German Humboldt Network. In an innovative three-way partnership, these partners are committed to promoting excellent female scientists in German science. The application phase for Germany is currently underway. 

The application phase will continue until 30 April 2024, with the final selection of candidates taking place on 30 June 2024.
