MRI – Study for the EU-research project „Age Estimation in refugee minors“. The institute of legal medicine of Münster is looking for male and female volunteers in the age from 12 to 24 years. The volunteers must no be relatives. Over and above that the volunteers must not have any growth influencing disease. Neither the upper left wisdom tooth, nor the lower left wisdom tooth must be removed. In addition to that it is not allowed that people with fixed braces enter this study. In case of understanding problems please write an e-mail to mrt-studie[at]ukmuenster.de.The most important fact is, that the participants know their real date of birth, even when there is a wrong date of birth in the documents. The estimation takes approximately 60 minutes and is completely painless. The Ethics Committee of the Ärztekammer Westfalen-Lippe has approved this project. Every participant receives a compensation in the amount of 60 EUR.Please bring a valid identification document / passport. In the information sheet you will also find information on the background of the study, details of the examination and a questionnaire (appendix). Depending on the age of the participants, there are 3 different consent forms with attachments: If there are any understanding problems you can also fill in and sign the consent form with the help of the physicians at the examination. You can bring the filled out and signed consent form to your examination or you can also fill in and sign the form on the spot. After your examination you will get a bill to fill in for the compensation. We will need your bank details (IBAN and BIC) to transfer the money. Cash payments are not allowed. The administration of the university hospital of Münster is responsible for the money transfer. Consent forms and the completed bills with your bank details will be collectet up by the physicians at the examination.
