Application

As part of the medical informatics initiative, broad consents are distributed to patients in all participating German hospitals, which legally enable the use of data and biomaterials by external scientists. Within a site, the respective UAC must approve a data use request from external scientists before data and biomaterials can be delivered in pseudonymized form. The exact procedure is defined in the nationwide uniform usage regulations. The information required for an application is regulated uniformly throughout the country by means of an application for use. An important prerequisite for such a data use application is primarily an ethics vote. In the case of a positive review of the UAC, a nationwide uniform user agreement must then be concluded, which regulates the use or transfer of the data and biomaterials. The submission of a data use request differs whether only data and biomaterials from the Münster site or nationwide are requested. Please note the corresponding sub-items.
