The Institute of Medical Informatics (IMI) at the University of Münster warmly congratulates Dr. Tobias Brix on his new position as Head of the Trust Office at Münster University Hospital (UKM). The Trust Office is an independent administrative unit reporting to the UKM Medical Director. Dr. Brix took up his new position on 1 November 2026.

Until recently, he worked as a research associate at the IMI and also served as Deputy Head of the Medical Data Integratiion Center (MeDIC). In these roles, he was closely involved in the use, integration and provision of medical data for research purposes.

In his new position, Dr. Brix will assume professional, organisational and strategic responsibility for establishing and operating the Trust Office. The unit is intended to play a key role in making personal health data available for patient care and medical research while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and data protection requirements.
