GLYCANC project was recently visited by its project officer, Thierry Jacquin from the European Commission in Brussels. In the mid-term meeting, a project officer of the Research Executive Agency evaluates the progress the project has made so far. It is checked whether the project is running well with respect to implementation of the secondments to other partners, training of young scientists, transfer of knowledge between different laboratories, and other aspects. The two-day meeting took place in Münster / Germany, seat of the project coordinator at the Westfalian Wilhelms University. Partners from all European groups and from Egypt presented their research activities, administrative management was discussed, and young scientists were able to talk about several aspects of their secondments personally with the project officer. At a dinner by the lake, members had the opportunity to talk more informally. A workshop on proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans in metastasis was held after the mid-term meeting.
