IVF and ET
High efficiency “in vitro” fertilization (IVF), and embryo transfer (ET) using sperm samples from different transgenic mouse lines on different genetic background.
Re-Derivation of Mouse Colonies
TRAM provides high efficiency re-derivation services to establish pathogen-free mouse colonies from valuable or imported mouse lines. To ensure the production of infection-free animal models, all mouse lines are maintained under specific pathogen-free conditions. Embryo transfer enables the re-derivation of valuable mouse strains from potentially contaminated colonies, allowing them to be re-established and preserved in an pathogen-free environment. Embryos can also be safely cryopreserved for long-term storage, ensuring secure maintenance and future recovery of genetically important lines. This service supports the 3R principles through improved animal welfare and reduction of unnecessary breeding
Long-term storage of mouse sperm
Mouse sperm is obtained and frozen with consecutive in vitro fertilization procedures.
Free sperm cryopreservation
For members of the medical faculty, sperm cryopreservation of genetically modified mouse lines as a backup is free of charge, when the breeding of the referring mousline will be stopped.
