Curriculum vitae

After getting my diploma in chemistry I started my PhD 1994 working on blood coagulation factor IX supervised by Prof. Dr. R.E. Zimmermann.
My postdoctoral career begun 1997 in the lab of Prof. Dr. Hans Oberleithner, Institute of Physiology 2, Münster were I came in touch with Atomic Force Microscopy. This technique became an important tool for my further career. My habilitation was in 2009 about the structure, function and dynamics of CFTR (Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator).

I am the responsible person for the technology platform Atomic Force Microscopy. (https://www.medizin.uni-muenster.de/physiologieii/technologieplattform-rasterkraftmikroskopie.html) and I organized the 9th AFM BioMed 2019 in Münster (https://afmbiomed.org/m%C3%BCnster-2019.aspx).

H2020-MSCA-ITN-2018

The Innovative Traing Network “Biomechanics in health and disease: advanced physical tools for innovative early diagnosis” (Phys2BioMed) will involve sixteen partners, merging diverse competences at European level, from different fields like nanoscience and nanotechnology, physics, biology, and medicine. Phys2BioMed will offer excellent interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral training to a team of motivated early stage researchers (ESRs) on the application of cutting-edge physical tools for the mechanical phenotyping of cells and tissues of clinical relevance, aiming at developing novel early-diagnostic tools.
