I studied Biomedical Sciences at Universidade da Beira Interior, Portugal, where I obtained both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. I spent my thesis year in the i3S Institute, where I continued for 3 years as a research fellow, working on iron metabolism and its importance in macrophage action against mycobacteria. In September 2020 I joined Dr. Lehen’kyi’s (University of Lille; FR) and Prof. Albrecht Schwab’s groups as a PhD student. This is part of a co-tutelle between the Universities of Münster and Lille. My work is focused on the role of TRPV6 calcium channel in the development and progression of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
