Embedded into the SFB815 framework and funded by the DFG (www.redox-sfb.de), the Eble group studies ROS as potential modulators of integrin activity and the integrin-triggered production of ROS in vascular smooth muscle cells. The soluble integrins are analyzed for ROS-derived protein modifications, which lay the molecular foundation for the redox-regulation of integrin-mediated functions in the vessel wall (de Rezende Figueiredo F, et al. 2012; Eble JA 2014; Eble JA and De Rezende FF 2014).
