Dear Colleagues
Dear Friends
Dear Students

It gives us great pleasure to invite you and interested members of your institution to the 28. Ernst Klenk Symposium in Molecular Medicine 2012 on "The Genomic Future of Medicine". The meeting organized by the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC) will be held on Sept. 30 - Oct. 02, 2012 in the Main Lecture Hall of the Medical Faculty, University of Cologne, Germany.

Our intention is to provide a forum for discussion of novel developments in the rapidly advancing area of biomedical research. In recent years the significant advances in genetics and genomics triggered an enormous out-put at the scientific front. These advantages in combination with the development of new technology and understanding of human diseases have opened up a new era in healthcare. On the other hand genetic variations and their functional impact on human diseases and phenotypes are often not understood.

The scientific organizer Prof. Dr. Han G. Brunner (Radboud University Nijmegen) and Prof. Dr. Brunhilde Wirth (University of Cologne) have put together an excellent cutting edge program. We are looking forward to the presentations of international leaders in the field of human genetics and genomics to discuss the state-of-the-art knowledge and future developments in following sessions:
Session I - Personal genome, structure and evolution
Session II - Genetic medicine
Session III - Gene regulation and gene therapy
Please find the program and the poster attached.

Ernst Klenk Lecture
As one major highlight of the meeting Han G. Brunner will present as honorary guest speaker the traditional Ernst Klenk Lecture 2012 on "How genomics changes the practice of medicine" on Monday, Oct. 01, 2012 at 6 p.m.
Poster Presentation - Call for submission of poster abstracts
We are pleased to invite all participants to submit abstracts for the poster presentation at the symposium related to one of the topics of the sessions (deadline for abstract submission: June 25, 2012).

Please note, that the registration and participation in the Ernst Klenk Symposium 2012 is free of charge!

Our aim is to attract researchers, physicians and in particular young academics and students working in the fields of human and medical genetics as well as those interested in genome biology from academia and industry.

We are looking forward to welcoming you and interested scientists of your institution.

Sincerely yours
