The second internal FluResearchNet meeting 2011 took place from September 26-27 at the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung in Braunschweig.

Topics of the meeting were:

  • Viral adaption and host susceptibility,
  • Pathogenesis,
  • Antiviral strategies, and
  • Interferon system.

Key notes were given by Gülsah Gabriel (Heinrich-Pette-Institut, Hamburg), Jürgen Stech and Martin Beer (both from the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Insel Riems). Especially young scientists presented current data of the individual FluResearchNet projects and discussed most recent outcomes with the audience.
