Synapt G2 Si with M-Class nanoLC, Ion key source and ETD (Waters Corp.)

In the Core Unit Proteomics of the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research a state-of-the-art high resolution mass spectrometer has been installed recently. The German Research Organization DFG has granted 750.000 € for this purpose. The new instrument features a number of important technical innovations and thus expands the experimental possibilities of Münster’s life scientists considerably. The spectrometer allows the identification of harmful substances and is therefore used in the investigation of disease. For 15 years already, the group of chemist Prof. Simone König has been carrying out research and development as well as service tasks in the area of protein analysis. Mass spectrometers, so called molecular balances, are in integral part of the instrumentation of the technology platform.
