Testicular Development and Physiology

The research of our group focusses on physiological, evolutionary and developmental aspects of spermatogenesis and its endocrine regulation, which we study, generally as well as translationally and preclinically. Using various model organisms such as different mouse lines, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, Axolotl, birds, non-human primates but also human testicular tissues and in in vitro approaches, we aim at understanding physiological and pathophysiological processes, underlying male reproduction and reproductive success but also those that are responsible for infertility.
