Human Preclinical Studies

In human preclinical studies, mechanisms involved in the regulation and dynamics of fear and anxiety will be investigated employing fear conditioning paradigms and experimental tools such as virtual reality and startle reflex modulation, stress system manipulations, fMRI, EEG or MEG.
These projects aim at identifiying neurobiological correlates of fear and anxiety taking into account (epi)-genetic, environment and life history perspectives.
Preclinical projects allow for the translational investigations in close analogy to animal research as well as clinical populations.
